The project will progress in a series of 2 week Sprints throughout the quarter. There is an alpha release, release candidate 1 and a final release at the end of weeks 4 8, and 10.

Trailer storyboard: end of week 5 (Sunday, May 7 by 11:59pm). Use this template (Word, PDF) for your trailer storyboard. Upload your trailer storyboard (easiest thing is probably to print it, write and draw on it, then scan it) to your team folder to turn it in. Good examples of trailers from a past 172 can be found here.
Playtest event week 5 (Wednesday, May 3, 3:00 - 6:00 in the Game Lab
Sprint 4: Weeks 7 & 8 : May 15-26
Initial draft of trailer, updated website, initial draft of press kit: week 7 (all due by Sunday, May 21 at 11:59pm)
Release candidate 1: May 26
Sprint 5: Week 9 & 10 : May 29-June 9
Send out press materials: week 9 (by 11:59 pm)
Public release of game: week 9 (by 11:59pm - this should be the version that you're showing at the Sammy Showcase - you can call this a public alpha if you'd like)
Final Trailer: Tuesday, June 6 by 11:59pm
Final release: June 9 (you can update your public release with the final version you've made by the end of week 10)
Sprint plans are due by the end of the day on the first Monday after the start of a Sprint (April 3, April 17, May 1, May 15, May 29). Sprint reports are due on the day after the end of a Sprint (by the end of that day). Release plans are due at the start of the first sprint in the release (April 3, May 1, May 29).
A public festival-like live demonstration of your games will occur on Saturday June 3. The Sammy Awards presentation of games will take place Friday, June 9 (end of week 10). Students are expected to participate in both events (festival and presentation).
Final game grading will take place during a public playtesting session on Monday, June 12, from 4:00-7:00pm in the game lab. This is the scheduled time for this class's final, so it won't confict with any other finals you have.
